How this website handles the information you share with it, and what it does not do with it.
This policy covers the website
This policy explains how harborcounselingjax.com handles visitor information. It is separate from the Notice of Privacy Practices that governs protected health information for clients of the practice, which you receive at intake and which is governed by HIPAA.
If you are a current client and have a question about your health record, please contact the practice directly rather than relying on this page.
What is collected
Information you choose to send
If you email, call, text, or submit a form, the practice receives whatever you choose to include in that message, along with your contact details so it can respond.
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to the practice by email through a third-party email service, Resend. A copy also goes to the practice's website developer, solely to confirm the form keeps working; it is not used for anything else.
This website does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies. Like any website, its hosting provider, Vercel, automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Appointment booking is handled through a third-party client portal. Information you enter there is governed by that provider's own privacy and security terms, not by this page.
Embedded content
Maps and videos from Google
The contact page includes an embedded Google map of the office. When the map loads, Google receives your IP address and browser information and may set cookies, under Google's own privacy policy.
Videos on the Speaking page use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and load nothing from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube receives the same kind of information and may set cookies, under Google's privacy policy.
How it is used
Only to respond to you
Contact information is used to reply to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, and provide services you request.
Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared with third parties for marketing.
Information may be disclosed where required by law, or where a licensed psychologist is legally or ethically obligated to act, including situations involving risk of serious harm.
Security
What email and web forms can and cannot protect
Email, text messages, and website forms are not secure or encrypted channels, and they are not monitored around the clock. Please do not use them to send clinical details, or anything you would consider sensitive health information.
For anything clinical, use the secure client portal or raise it in session.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call or text 988, or dial 911.
