It's Not Your Fault: Finding Peace with Food and Body

Dr. Savannah Landis, Psy.D.

Article cover: finding peace with food and body

I am so grateful to have written a blog post for my college sorority chapter, and I was especially excited for it to be part of the Summer 2025 issue of The Angelos.

In this piece, I explore what it truly means to find peace with food and body, moving away from diet culture and toward the liberating path of intuitive eating.

How many times have you told yourself that the diet starts Monday, or wondered whether you were too fat or too thin? How often have you been lectured about good foods and bad foods? These are the questions and experiences that plague so many people who struggle in their relationship with food or body image. The good news is that this relationship can be healed, and it can finally set you free from the struggle.

My hope is to offer a space for reflection and encouragement as we all navigate our own journeys toward self-compassion and joyful well-being.
